Sparks raised
Thank you Aaron,
thank you Dave,
thank you Paul,
thank you Vicky
for the beauty that was the gig on Friday. Aaron for the amazing slideshow and the surrounding sound (and for hurrying so madly up the stairs to get the wav recorder when my own one died); Dave for the gorgeous and lush new material and the honour of playing with him (here's to the first of many Raising Holy Sparks gigs); Paul for the excellent hosting skills complete with snack-smörgåsbord (mini Mars bars - inspired choice!); thank you Vicky for the glimpse of freedom in sound and infecting me with laughter (and I'd carry Wavin Friday to the bottom of the sea and back if needs be!)
More photos to follow, but not at two aay emm.
I spent far too many neptagoggins this weekend.
Tomorrow - return to the car park.

Milan Jay E.P launch at Richardson's PLUS other stuff
I played support for Milan Jay this very evening, and a good show it was. MJ's E.P is great stuff altogether. My set was only slightly shambolic; I managed to almost completely undo all my hard work setting up lights by knocking them all over, and pressed some of the wrong buttons and hit some of the wrong strings and that but this is it, and that it was.
"ok thank you that would be great i haven't done it yet ptttttttthhhhhhhhhhh" is bound to be the big Christmas catchphrase.

FairyFortFour Photovideo
At lengthy last, with the help of Michelle's computer, I've stitched together the photos from the last Fairy Fort night and lined them up and made them play. After much frustration with my own technological limitations I'm relieved to have finally done this. I'm afraid the quality is a bit poor, I tried doing the highest quality at every step but still it ended up pretty blocky. Which is annoying as it really doesn't do Aaron's projections justice at all. Oh well, for now it'll have to do, til I figure out how to make it better (or someone else lends their expertise...)
The song is Yawning Chasm's 'To the Void' - from his 'The Shadow is that Hidden' EP - which is an effortlessly gorgeous tune.

Fairy Fort/Witches Club
... is a music night/gathering/happening set up by Takashi Kumagai this month, taking place in an active Fairy Fort frequented by adolescent witches with territorial ambitions. The first night was just over two weeks ago; I was cameraless (except for a dodgy film camera that proved its dodginess by not yielding one photograph) so Gavin Prior kindly passed around his little Olympus camera and I took some messy photographs. He uploaded the better ones to his flickr account, and I took from there the photos I'm pretty sure I took, memory is unreliable...
Video by Takashi Kumagai
The second night was yesterday, starring Phantom Dog Beneath the Moon and Paul O'Reilly. I managed to bring my own camera this time...
